Tasha Smith is an American actress, director, and producer born on February 28, 1971, in Camden, New Jersey. She began her acting career with a role in ‘Twin Sitters’ (1994). Smith gained recognition for her roles in various films and television series, including ‘Boston Common’ (1996-97), ‘The Corner’, ‘The Whole Ten Yards’ (2004), ‘Daddy’s Little Girls’ (2007), and Tyler Perry’s ‘Why Did I Get Married?’ and its sequel. Her portrayal of Angela Williams in those films led to the spin-off series ‘For Better or Worse’. Smith has also directed episodes of ‘9-1-1’, ‘Black Lightning’, ‘Star’, ‘P-Valley’, and made her directorial debut with the film ‘When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story’. Before her success, Smith overcame a period of drug use in her late teens and early 20s, later embracing Christianity. She is known for her motivational speaking and mentoring of emerging actors through the Tasha Smith Actors Workshop (TSAW).
