DeMarcus Cousins, nicknamed “Boogie,” is an American professional basketball player. He was born on August 13, 1990, in Mobile, Alabama. A 6’11” center, Cousins played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats before being drafted into the NBA. He was the fifth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings. After representing the Kings for eight seasons, Cousins played for the New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, LA Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets. He is a four-time NBA All-Star (2015–2018), a two-time All-NBA Second Team selection (2015, 2016), and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2011. Cousins also won a gold medal representing the United States at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.
