He served as a cryptologic officer for naval intelligence. Williams is also an author and has written several books. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1999, he founded the Montel Williams MS Foundation to raise awareness and support research for the condition. Currently, Williams hosts ‘Military Makeover: Operation Career’ and ‘The Balancing Act’ on Lifetime, and continues to be involved in various projects related to health advocacy and veterans’ affairs. He has received numerous awards, including a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host.
