Peter Criss, born Peter George John Criscoula on December 20, 1945, is an American rock star and actor. He rose to fame as one of the original members of the iconic rock band Kiss. Criss’s musical journey began early, fueled by his passion for art and music. In the early 1970s, Criss placed an ad in Rolling Stone magazine, which led to the formation of Kiss with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. He was a member of the group for 14 albums. Known as the “Catman” for his signature makeup, Criss contributed significantly to Kiss’s hard and glam rock sound and their visually stunning live performances. Peter left Kiss in 1980 to pursue a solo career, releasing two albums and traveling from band to band until he rejoined Kiss and took part in a reunion tour from 1996 to 1997. The group released an album in 1998. He again left the band after destroying his drums on stage in 2000 before returning once again in 2002. Finally, he left for good in 2004 and attempted another solo album with the 2007 release of “One for All.” Peter was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Kiss in 2014.
