Elizabeth Alice “Ali” MacGraw (born April 1, 1939) is an American actress who rose to fame with her performances in films like “Goodbye, Columbus” and “Love Story,” the latter earning her an Academy Award nomination in 1970. She further starred in “The Getaway,” “Convoy,” and “Just Tell Me What You Want,” and the television miniseries “The Winds of War.” MacGraw started her career in 1960 at Harper’s Bazaar magazine, then worked at Vogue as a fashion model and photographer’s stylist before transitioning to acting, beginning with television commercials. Beyond her acting career, Ali MacGraw is a lifelong animal rights advocate and has resided in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 1994, leading a modest lifestyle. She has also written an autobiography, “Moving Pictures,” and created a yoga video called “Yoga Mind & Body.”
