Indeck Power Equipment specializes in the rental, lease, and sale of steam power, while Indeck Energy Services develops, owns, and operates cogeneration and independent power projects in North America. In addition to his ventures in auto racing and energy, Forsythe is also involved in numismatics, owning a highly regarded collection of Liberty Head nickels. He also owns resorts and golf courses in Michigan, along with a 28,000 acre cattle ranch in Illinois. Furthermore, Forsythe has a large and successful winery in California. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is married to Kathleen Forsythe and has two children.
