Before her role in ‘The Godfather,’ Stefanelli had supporting roles in several Italian films. Following the success of ‘The Godfather,’ she continued her acting career in Italy, appearing in films such as ‘Moses the Lawgiver,’ ‘Scandal in the Family,’ and ‘Three Brothers’. In 1992, she made her last film appearance in ‘Close Friends.’ Stefanelli was married to actor/director Michele Placido and has three children, including actress Violante Placido. After her acting career, she transitioned into business and fashion. She currently owns a fashion store in Rome called Simo Bloom, where she designs bags and shoes.
